Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center Marks Seventh Graduation Cohort

On July 22, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center celebrated another milestone in the country's continued investment in cybersecurity talent and national resilience: the graduation of its seventh cohort.

The graduation ceremony shows how education, practical experience, and teamwork are helping to build a strong cybersecurity community.

A Safer Cyber Future

For many years, Azerbaijan has worked to strengthen its cybersecurity posture.

As digital systems play a larger role in daily life, from government services to critical infrastructure, protecting them is more than just a technical task. Moti Yeger, General Director at Technion's Continuing Education School, called it a "mission to protect the foundation of modern society."

This goal led to the creation of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, and since opening in March 2023, the center has offered hands-on training, workshops, hackathons, masterclasses, webinars, and community days for both public- and private-sector participants.

The center's programs help students who are new to cybersecurity, support industry professionals in improving their skills, and train C-level executives who set strategy and budgets.

By training people at every level, from beginners to executives, the center creates a strong network of professionals who understand the same risks, use the same language, and share responsibility for digital security. This is what a real cybersecurity ecosystem looks like, and it helps build a unified, resilient nation.

This vision took another step forward on July 22.

An Ever-Growing Ecosystem of Cybersecure Expertise

By investing in people today, Azerbaijan is preparing to protect its digital infrastructure and support future growth.

That commitment was on full display at the graduation ceremony, which brought together representatives from government, universities, and industry to celebrate the graduates and reflect on the growing responsibilities carried by cybersecurity professionals.

Addressing the room, Moti Yeger emphasized that the program develops more than technical expertise, noting that "participants are trained to think strategically, anticipate emerging risks, protect critical systems, and apply technology responsibly and ethically."

Yeger also spoke to the partnership behind the program, between Technion, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, taking time to thank the CyberproAI team for its professionalism and support in running the program.

The Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center offers expert-led teaching along with practical, hands-on learning to prepare participants for real cybersecurity jobs.
